What you do for your spouse.

So this week I have been giving Casey a hard time about not doing the dishes or helping around the apartment. He then said to me "when do you do the dishes or clean the apartment?" So that made me think. To tell you the truth, I am not one of those house wife that stays home all day and clean the house and when the husband comes home dinner is ready and on the table. No, I am more of the wife that likes to relax and watch movies that Casey normally would NOT like watching with me and doing homework (well I don't like doing that but it has to get done), and pretty much anything but clean! This month I told Casey that I want to try and be more of that wife that is "Mrs. Perfect" even though I know that I will not be able to be "perfect". So anyways, on friday I got an interview and then found out that I got the job. That put me into a happy mood! A mood that made me want to be a better wife and help my husband with the apartment. So when Casey went to work, I told myself that I am not going to just stay home and sit on the couch all day long and watch movies. Instead, I did some dishes and cleaned up a bit while watching Gilmore Girls. Even though I did sit on the couch while the dishes were air drying, because I didn't want to dry them by myself and we don't have a dishwasher, I still did some dishes and cleaned. Yes, this might surprise you if you know how Casey and I are like. Most of the time I ask Casey to do the dishes (or chores that I do NOT like doing) and keep on asking him to do them until it gets super annoying and he finally does them! But this time I did it all by myself without being asked! I was showing Casey how much I love him! Well I show him everyday, but he did like how I did do the dishes so he didn't have to when he got home.

Early this week, I was having a day where I just woke up in a bad mood and Casey knew it. Everything was going wrong and people were just getting on my nerves. I was texting Casey all day long about how that day just sucked. When I got home from school, I walked in and there was flowers with a sign that said "Happy 5 days before Valentines Day and 2 before our 8 monthiversary. Before that sign was the first two seasons of Gilmore Girls. With an added bonus the dishes done, the living room picked up, and our bed made! YES I BELIEVE I HAVE THE AMAZINGEST HUSBAND EVER! That just made my day so much better, until we went to school for our night class and we forgot our id cards so we couldn't park in the parking lot, and of course it has to be the same night there was a Jazz game. But I got over it and had an amazing night after class with my husband just watching a movie then going to bed.

Doing the small things that let your spouse know that you love them are the BIG things in life. That is what I think at least. Yes, every girl wants a dozen roses every time her husband or boyfriend comes home or a diamond necklace for valentines day. But the small things are the things that show me that Casey truly does love me and will always love me through whatever we go through. An example of this is when I was having my bad day as I explain above, and I came home to flowers and Gilmore girls but the thing that I appreciated the most was having some house work done and our place clean so we could enjoy a night together just relaxing. So I just want to say, I love my husband! He is truly my soul mate! :]
