Two Thanksgivings. Two Weeks.

This Year we had two Thanksgivings in two weeks.

On the actual day we just spent it here with Robin, Perry and the Todd's. During Walker's morning nap Casey and I went to go see 'Wreck It Ralph'. It was such a good movie. I loved it! We then had our Thanksgiving dinner that afternoon. Walker spelt through it, which was nice but sad at the same time. Nice because Casey and I got to eat a dinner without having to make sure Walker has some puffs or something to play with. Sad because he missed out on his first Thanksgiving dinner. We did save some turkey and mash potatoes for him and blended them up and fed them to him later that day and he did not like it! Kinda like his mom, not really liking turkey. I guess we will see if his likes ham on Christmas. I totally forgot to take some pictures on that day. :[

That night Black Friday started! We left Walker with Perry while Casey and I went out to go get the goods. We met up with some of our friends at Walmart and then went to Target with them as well. We got most of Walker's Christmas presents and some movies and other things for us. We also went to Old Navy at midnight to get our outfits for our family photos, which I will post about in a different post. We also got me some new jeans since my favorite jeans ripped a couple weeks before (such a sad day). It was fun to go shopping with our friends and go shopping for Walker. I am excited to give him all of his presents on christmas!! The next day, I wanted to go to JCP to get some colored jeans for our family photos. I met up with my friend Aubry there and they didn't even have the jeans I wanted to get so I got different ones and also so clothes for Walker. The mall was crazy! Pretty sure it took me like 30 minutes to find a parking spot. Good thing Walker was sleeping or he would have just screamed his head off until he got out of his carseat. I think I will not go to the mall again on Black Friday even if the deal are way good. I don't think it is wroth the craziness... :/

The next week we had Thanksgiving/Christmas with my family. Casey and I decided that we would just do one big trip to go see my parents for the holidays so he doesn't have to request the holidays off since he would get paid a time and a half. So we talked to my parents and also my brother brad about what they were going to do this thanksgiving and what we decided was that the next week we would go to the resort in Palm Springs my parents have points at and go there and celebrate with each other. It was fun being with family. We had Thanksgiving and Christmas.

YUM YUM!

For Thanksgiving dinner, we were all in charge of making something. Casey and I were in charge of making stuffing (dressing) and the mash potatoes. I made the stuffing and I did it from scratch. I found a recipe on Pinterest (which is where I get most of my stuff now). I was scared that it wasn't going to turn out since I probably not the best cook ever. But to my surprise it was pretty dang good! Much better than the box stuffing to my taste.

Just look at the smile!

To celebrate Christmas there we went to the Zoo at night that is in Palm Desert and looked at the Christmas lights that they had set up. My mom and niece also rode the camel that was there. It was pretty cool but I would never do that. Maybe later in life but that night, no way. For Christmas, my parents got Walker a little Disney Casey Jr Choo Choo Train. He loves it. When we were not celebrating a holiday early or late we were just spending time with the family. We went swimming pretty much everyday, which is nice since it is too cold here to go. Walker loves the water. He will probably be a swimmer, thats my guess. We also played the wii with each other. It was fun teaching my dad how to play Mario Cart. He got pretty good at it at the end. It was fun getting to spend time with the family and making memories.

Swimming with daddy
At the zoo looking at lights and watching Grandma ride the camel

It was fun being with my family and seeing Walker be with my parents and also my brother's family and his kids. I sure do love spending time with family. :]

Utah Trip - October 2012

My sister, Jessica, finally moved into her house in Idaho by Bear Lake. So my mom and I went up there to help her move in. I helped her design his kids rooms as well. We also went up to visit.

Utah was my home for 3 years so I kinda felt like I was going back home again. It was fun being back where I was familiar too. It was also Walker's first airplane ride. He did very good and wasn't really fussy (thank you baby Tylenol) but interested in what was going on. It was also Walker's time really meeting my sister's kids. I got really close to my sister kids when we lived by there. When we were first married we also lived with them for a couple months before school started. So we were able to develop a really good relationship with her kids.

Tavis and Krya loved Walker. It was so cute to see how much they wanted to help with him and play with him. He was just learning how crawl so it was fun to see how they helped him out. All of them just wanted to be with Walker and sit by him, eat by him, play with him or have anything to do with him.

Walker and his Cousins
Story: One night Walker was crying wanting to go to bed, but it was a different place and sometimes that just throws him off. So I set him down to just let him clam himself down and Krya came up to me and was like ' Joy, Walker is crying. He is sad.' So I told her she could go over there and pat him on his back. So she did and while she was patting him on the back she was saying 'shh. its ok Walker'. It was the cutest thing ever. She is such a doll.

While we were in Utah we also go to stop by one of my friend, Katie's house to visit a little before we left. It was fun seeing her and her family. And also having them see how much Walker has grown and having them meet him again. She was my best friend while we were at the LDSBC in school. I wish we lived closer because somedays I miss seeing her and spending the day with her while Casey is working. She also has a niece and we decided that Walker and Lily are going to get married. Ha probably not but Lily is a cutie.

Date Night - November 2012

Since Walker was born Casey and I haven't really had a date night. Ya we go out sometimes just us two but its not really like a date. It more like us just going to get some food while Robin and Perry watches Walker.

So about a month ago, Casey and I were able to go out on a date. We went to 'Oscars' which is now called America's O's or something like that. It was pretty good. Their breadsticks are amazing. We ordered a pizza with unlimited breadsticks and really we just wanted to breadsticks. Before we left we asked for two more servings of breadsticks and just packed them to take them home! BREADSTICKS FOR A WEEK!! :]

The Ghetto Boomers.
After we were going to go see a movie but then we decided to do something different because we always watch movies at home. So we decided to go to Boomers. It was pretty ghetto but still fun. We just played the arcade games. We played mostly the games that gave us tickets so we can get something at the end, which didn't happen. Most of the games we cheep and didn't give us all of the tickets that we earned or stole out tokens. Like I said it was pretty ghetto. We found a couple games that we liked to play the most. We liked Skeet Ball (I don't know about the spelling) and also Fruit Ninja.

It was fun to get out and spend some time with just us two. I love spending time with Casey and wish we could spend more time together.

Walker putting his socks on.
While we were on our date, Robin and Perry watched walker. He loves his grandparents. While we were out he tried to put on his sock. He kept on looking at his sock then his foot then he put his sock up to his foot. Walker knows that they go on his feet but just couldn't figure out how to get them there. He also would put them in his mouth then looked at Robin and she would say 'no' then he would put the sock to his foot and look at her again and she would say 'yes'. He would then repeat that a couple times and shake his head when he ever puts the sock up to his month. He couldn't get it on there but he sure did try. He is such a smart boy and is really trying to be much older than he actually is.

The Gratitude Challenge

Yesterday the Relief Society lesson was on gratitude. We all know that when we pray to Heavenly Father we thank him for our blessings. But we somethings just leave it at that. There are so many blessings each one of us have in our lives that should thank Him for each and every blessing that he gives us specifically.

At the end of the lesson we were given the challenge to write down 100 things we are grateful for in our journal. Since I use this blog as my journal I am going to do it here and let you all know as well.

Since some might think writing 100 things that you are grateful for might be a little hard they gave us an outline of how to get to 100 things. There are 10 categories and you write 10 things per category.

So here we go!

Things About the Gospel
91The Prophets | 92The Apostles | 93General Conference | 94Having the gift of the Holy Ghost | 95Being able to be baptized | 96Being sealed to my family for eternity | 97Missions and Missionaries | 98Music | 99Leaders of the Church | 100Temple work

After doing this challenge, I have noticed that it is a lot harder than I thought it was. But I am glad I took the time to write down things that I am thankful for. And 100 things just scratch the surface of all the things I am grateful for. Even if it was hard to write down 100 things I know I can think of so many more. I hope that I start to notice more of the things that I should be grateful rather than the things that I wish I didn't have or I wish I did have/could have.

I now challenge anyone who reads this to do the same thing.

Just my thoughts...

Sorry in advance if this post is totally random and scattered.

So since I have been pregnant I have had these moments where I just start crying for no reason. Yes, the hormones are making me a cry baby. Last night it happened again. Casey and I were just in the car driving home from target when I just started to cry. I just started to go on and on about how amazing of a husband Casey is and how much he takes care of me and loves me. Then I started to go on about how I need to be a better wife and all. Casey just let me get it all out and then told me that I am the best wife that he could ask for and he wouldn't want anything different! Oh I love my husband! He is so understanding and so caring! I couldn't ask for a better husband or best friend!

Being pregnant has been an adventure. It has scared me at times where I tell myself that I don't know what I am doing and getting myself into. I am scared that I am just not ready. But when I talk to Casey about what we are about to get ourselves into we both know that we will be ready when the time comes and when our little guy comes he will be the best parents he could have. It makes me feel better. I am just so excited but nervous at the same time. It is crazy to think that only in about 18 weeks Casey and I will be parents to a little guy! I can't believe it sometimes! At times I just want our little guy to be here already! Being home alone isn't to fun anymore, I get bored. But I know once there little Schroeder comes along I will never be alone, which I am actually excited about. Yes you can call me crazy but I don't care, I am excited to start this next chapter in my life and have these new adventures!

Family. Last weekend Casey and I were able to go see my parents in Livermore. We had a blast! It was great being able to spend some time with them. I have sure missed them both and needed to see them. My mom has been going through chemo for her cancer and it has been hard on me not being able to be down there and helping her out whenever she needs it. She has done so much for me in my life and still doing so much that I just want to help her! So being able to go down and just spend time with them was amazing! The whole trip we kept on saying that this probably will be the last time we spend time as just us four because the next time I will see the both of them will probably be in March when our little guy comes and joins us on this earth. My mom and I kept on saying "next time you will be here we will have a little guy with us" or something of that matter. Casey and I were just so relaxed and happy while spending time with my parents. When we got home I started to cry because I didn't want to come back. I just wanted to stay there and be with my parents all the time or with any family for that matter.

I love being with and around family! Family does bring great happiness in my life and I cannot wait to have a family of my owe. Casey and I are both so excited to start our family and be able to spend time with our children to come. I cannot wait!

Where did the summer go?!

So I know that I have been very bad at writing on my blog. The summer has been crazy, so here is a post about how our summer went. We ended school in April. We both did very well in school and had a great time. Our friends Justin and Mitzi Furnell's moved to Missouri. Sad for us but happy for them. They lived right next door to us and we always had a monthly date night with them. Since they left Casey and I just had date night alone. Don't get me wrong, it is nice to have a date night alone with Casey but sometimes I like going on dates with someone else. We do go on dates with others too, like have them over for dinner and games, so we aren't anti-social.

April/ May: (I think it might have been sooner) My brother, Alex came to Utah to start school again after his mission. It has been great being able to hang out with him. Since we didn't have school we worked most of the time. But when we didn't work just chilled. It was nice not having to do homework or worry about school and projects. Here are some things that we did in May/ the end of April.

June: This month was the month of our one year mark. At the beginning of the month, I started my summer semester at LDSBC. I wanted to get some classes done so I wouldn't have to worry about them in the Fall when I had more classes. I only took 3 classes. It was very nice. I just had Studio 2, Rendering, and Pearl of Great Price. Since it was summer the classes were more packed with work, but I still got through it. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be until later on in the summer.

June 12 is our anniversary date. We celebrated it with great fun! You can read about that here. I can't believe that Casey and I have been married for a year and a little and known each other for about 2 years now. It is crazy! At the end of June was the Theobald family reunion. Casey and I had a couple days off before we had to leave for the family reunion so we decided that we wouldn't get each other any gifts for our year anniversary so we can spend that money to go to San Diego for a couple days before the family reunion. In San Diego, we spent some time with Casey's parents and family that is down there. It was mormon night at the Padres, so we went. That was my first Padres game and Casey was thrilled that we got to see them play even though they lost. It was still fun. We both like watching baseball and playing it isn't to bad either. We then left for the family reunion on sunday.

Family reunions are always filled with fun and laugher. That is exactly how the Theobald's do it, a vacation filled with fun! The reunion was located in Las Vegas, NV. We stayed at a resort that my parents are members to. It was great being with all the family except for Shawn's family. The moved to the east coast in april (guessed on the april) because Shawn is starting medical graduate school. We sure do miss their family. The Theobald family reunions are always filled with activities and things to do. The first day we got there we just relaxed and spent time with one another. My dad and mom made a video of family home videos and oh goodness that was embarrassing as well hilarious. They found some videos of things I don't even remember video taping! It was fun watching them with the family and hearing all the comments from one another and my dad. It was pretty funny (I am sure I said that already but I just had to say it once more). Monday we went to the children museum in Las Vegas. It was fun playing with my nieces and nephews and seeing them laugh and just explore. I think Casey is a big kid sometimes because it seemed like it was having as much or more fun as they were. We were all having a fun time. It was great. Tuesday, we went to Hoover Dam. My family cracked every dam joke you coud. It was hilarious. It was great going there. Casey and I never had been so it was fun for us to do something we haven't done before. We had a great time spending time at the pool and around the resort with my family.

July: To start off July, we celebrated the fourth with my friend from high school, Mackenzie and her husband and Alex. We had a little inside BBQ at our apartment in salt lake then went to sugarhouse for the firework show there. It was fun spending time with all of them and getting to see Mackenzie and getting to know her husband better. It was a couple weeks later that we found out that I was pregnant. Casey and I have been hoping for this day to come. We decided that it was time for us to start trying to have a baby in March. July was the month. I took a at home pregnancy test and it was positive. At first I didn't believe it so we got another one and I took that one as well and it was positive. So we were expecting. We didn't want to tell anyone except for my parents until we went to the doctors. We set up our first appointment with the doctor for August 8th, the week after the Schroeder family reunion. A week before the family reunion I started to feel really sick and was experiencing morning sickness. It got to the point where I couldn't keep anything down not even water. So I called the doctor and asked what I could do because I didn't want to feel horrible the whole time while at Yellowstone with the Schroeder's. They gave me a prescription for Zofran and told me that I still should try and eat what I can just a little every couple hours. And that is what I did. Casey and I then decided that we should tell his family that we were expecting while at the family reunion. So we were thinking of ways to tell them. His family got here in late July. They picked us up and we were off to Yellowstone for a week.

August: The first week of August we were in yellowstone spending time with Casey's family. It was great to spend time with them. When we first got to Yellowstone we took a family picture. Casey and I decided that it would be fun to announce to the family that we were expecting then. So on the last picture instead of saying "say cheese" we said "say Joy's pregnant!" and everyone was surprised, except for his parents. But they were all happy for us. It was fun being able to tell some of the family in person. We then drove to the Canyon campsites where we were camping for a week. Casey and I went to Yellowstone in August last year as well so we might have to make this a tradition since we have done it 2 years in a row. We will see. It was great being in Yellowstone. Casey's dad grew up their in the summer's because his parents worked their in the summer. So hearing all the stories of what he and his brothers and sister did was so fun and also hearing all of the information that he knew about the park. Last year I told Casey that I really wanted to see a moose but we didn't get the chance to see one last year or this year. It was a bummer but we still had tons of fun and saw lots of other animals. You could never really predict the weather in Yellowstone but the weather wasn't to bad. It did rain for the most part of the time while we were there. Since we were staying in the middle of the park we got to see all of the main attractions. It was great driving around and walking around the beauty of Yellowstone. Being outside helped me feel a little better as well. I still felt sick but it wasn't to bad, thanks to the medicine. Yellowstone was a blast with the Schroeder family. We had great fun!

When we got home from Yellowstone we had our doctor's appointment. I started to not feel good on the way home so I took it easy for the next couple days. Morning sickness just got worse over the month and I felt that all I did was sit in the bathroom and hoover over the toilet (TMI). The doctor appointment went well though. We got to have our first ultrasound and saw the baby. It wasn't to big and it looked like a pea pod kinda. But it was very healthy, which helped me because I was starting to get nervous that it wasn't because I wasn't getting much food down. We got to meet our doctor which seems to be so nice and I am very excited to have her as my doctor. After the appointment we told the whole family. Called all of our siblings and family members and told them that we were expecting and I was due March 13th. We then told the world (aka. blogger and facebook).

My morning sickness just kept on getting worse and worse over the weeks. I started to loose weight. I called the doctor again and asked what else I could do. I was still on the medication. They said that I need to go to the infusion center to get liquid in my system because I was getting dehydrated which wasn't helping me keep anything down.

September: I started to feel better but still wasn't completely fine. I turned 20 years old on September 4th. We just relaxed and spent the day together. Alex and one of his friends came up for dinner. I still wasn't able to eat much so we had a very low key dinner that consisted of rice, tufo jello, and bread. Yes a morning sickness dinner. It was still a great birthday! We then moved to our new apartment that next week. We now live at Seasons at City Creek. They are brand new apartments right by our school. The week after we moved in we started school.

This months doctor appointment was a low key appointment. We just checked that I was doing good and that the baby was healthy. We heard the heartbeat for the first time. It was a great appointment. The doctor said that the baby is healthy and that I should start trying to gain weight because I lost about 13 pounds.

I now have gained 5 pounds and is feeling much better. I am keep down food if I eat slowly and also a little at a time. I am starting to show a little but it looks more like I am blowed then anything. Casey and I are still in school. We are excited for the next month because a lot is going to be happening. We start it off with conference which is always amazing. On monday, we go to the doctor again and this is 'the big' appointment where we have a ultrasound to find out if baby Schroeder is a boy or a girl. We are both very excited. Then at the end of the month we are going to be flying to California to visit my mom, a much needed trip. We haven't seen her since the family reunion, so I can't wait. I have called her almost very day. My mom and I are very close so I am way excited to go visit her and have her see me as a pregnant women. :)

Well that's an update. Hope you enjoyed.

Sleepover.

When my sister Jessica went into the hospital to have her baby and we took care of her kids while she was there we found out many things. One being that our air mattress had a whole in it or it just didn't kept that air in. So we had to buy a new one. I was happy about this because one we got a bigger one and it is very confortable. We took it up to Jessica's house when we went up their to help with their jungle gym. It was very nice being able to sleep on something different than our bed. I think that something you just need a change for a night or two. Also I liked it because Casey and I cuddled more, which is always the best. But anyways, when we got home from Jessica's Casey and I taught that we should have a sleepover in our living room for fun. We blew up the air mattress and popped in a movie. We watched Wolverine. It was actually a good movie. I liked it. It was fun being able to just shut our bedroom door with our cat into and just to spend sometime with Casey watching a movie that we have been wanting to watch for a while. I love being a newlywed and spending time with my husband! :]

Park City Adventure

This past weekend Casey and I went to Park City for the day. Nikon was having this thing where you can rent out lenses and bodies to take pictures with and test them out. On Saturday we got to do that. It was great and tons of fun. It was most defiantly something that Casey and I needed, sometime away from Salt Lake and work. Usually when Casey wants to go take pictures with him camera I go but is super bored because I don't have something to take cool pictures with. But this time we got to take his camera and rent another one for him and me. So we had 3 cameras. Yes that is a lot of money to just caring around main street in Park City, but it was tons of fun! Nikon also has some wireless flash stations set up that we can experiment with. It was great being able to see Casey doing something that he has so much passion for and really enjoys. Here is some pictures of our adventure.

My husband has such great talent and I love him for it! I am so grateful that we going to be together forever! I am such a lucky girl to have him! Love you Case! <3
