I know it is December, but having a little baby is a lot of work and I haven't really wanted to blog lately. So here is the Halloween post.
Earlier in the month, We went to a pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins to carve on halloween.
This Halloween we had a hard time figuring out what we wanted to dress up as. We had a couple ideas but we also didn't want to spend to much money on our costumes. We also wanted to be something as a family since it was our first halloween together as a family. We also took pictures of Walker at the Pumpkin Patch. He is such a trooper but he did great. He was more interested in the hay that was around the pumpkins then the pumpkins. So most of the time he was just eating and playing with the hay. I guess boys will be boys.

We finally decided on dressing up as the three bears. Casey being papa bear, I as mama bear, and Walker as baby bear. They turned out great. We bought walker's bear costume off ebay and made our with brown shirts and fabric. (I am becoming pretty crafty.)
The weekend before halloween we had our ward Halloween Party/ Chili cook-off. I made chili for the party and it won, everything goes award. I guess I am becoming a pretty good cook. :] At the party, Walker had his first taste of cotton candy, thanks for Grandma Schroeder (Robin). He liked it but we didn't give him to much of it.

On the actual day of Halloween, we went over to our family friends house, the Todd's, for dinner and dessert and then after we meet up with one of our friends, The Lucas's, to go to a couple house to go trick or treating. It is not as fun as I remember. Most of the homes were all blacked out and no one was home and not a lot of kids were out.

Later that night when we got home, Casey and I carved some pumpkins. Casey carved Jack from the movie 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' and I carved Frankie from the movie 'Frankenweenie'. (both Disney movies since we love Disney)

It is fun being able to spend these first holidays with Walker, even though he won't remember them but it is still exciting. I can't for next year when he will be able to remember it more and also participate more in the holidays.
