When life gives you lemons you make lemonade!
This past week and weekend has been filled with ups and downs; goods and bads.
BAD: Casey's computer got water on it by our cat, and now cost us $400 dollars to fix it. Then we found out that it will actually cost 750$ to fix. Money is tight for us right now so we decided that we aren't going to fix Casey's computer and just use my computer and iPad until we get enough money to get a new computer or something. We don't know exactly what will happened but that is the plan as of today.
BAD: Since I had a couple days off school, I wanted to do things with my husband and have some bonding moments with him. That did not happen, sadly. Casey had to work pretty much every day during this 6 day weekend for me. Don't get me wrong. I love that I have a husband that has a job so we can pay our bills and have a place to live in, but I just wish I get to spend more time with him. Sometimes I feel that on the days that Casey works this is what he does: Get up and get ready for work, goes to work, comes home from work, eat some dinner, then do homework until late at night. There is no time for "hubby and wife" time. I know we can make time but I don't want to distract him from his husband duties.
GOOD: I had a couple days off school. It was nice to have a break, especially since I was worried about how we are going to handle the computer problem and other problems that are in my life at the moment.
GOOD: On Saturday, Casey and I had Mackenzie and Steve over for dinner and games. Mackenzie is a really good friend of mine that I have been friends with since like 5th grade. It was fun catching up with her and also meeting her husband, Steve. We made homemade pizza, which was pretty freaking good, and just sat around our table and talked. Casey and I both want to invite them over again and hang out with him more. It was a fun time.
GOOD: My brother Alex came home today from a two-year mission in the Philippines. It is great having him home again. I am so excited to get to see him tomorrow. Today, I skyped, talked on the phone, and skyped some more with him because I wished so badly that I could have been there today. But I was not able to be there since I had school and Casey had work. Casey and I also decided that we wanted to be together when Alex gets to meet Casey for the first time.So this weekend is going to be a great time with the family making memories.
When I was thinking about my week I noticed that the GOOD moments in life make the BAD moments seem so small and pointless. I felt that I need to stop complaining about my BAD moments in my life and focus more about the good moments. Yes, I think it is good to have BAD moments because they just make you stronger but they just suck. I think if we notice more of the GOOD moments in our life we wont have a problem with the BAD moments because we remember the GOOD moments that we have.
Stop and Think about your GOOD moments in your life and notice how much you actually have!

I'm sorry about Casey's computer! I got a really good new computer for just shy of $600. You can get good ones for good prices if you investigate (good sites = newegg.com, tigerdirect.com).
ReplyDeleteI'm excited that Alex is home! I hope you have a good time with him this weekend or however long you get to spend there. And I hope he likes Casey =)
